Wild Eye Audio Postcards

Social Broadcasts

Immerse yourself in the captivating nature and stories of the North Coast through Wild Eye audio postcards. Sound artist Lucia Scazzocchio from Social Broadcasts has created a series of podcasts platforming local voices.

These short ‘audio postcards’ feature the voices of local people, mixing personal histories and knowledge with the perspectives of scientists, artists, conservationists and young people from across the Scarborough and Whitby area.

Offering intimate snapshots of wildlife, shifting tides, and human stories, these audio postcards invite you to listen closely, slow down and experience the North Coast in a new way.

“The beauty of living by the sea is that you can always hear the wind and the waves and the oyster catchers and the seagulls.” – Extract from Audio Postcard: The North Sea
“I couldn’t really imagine growing up anywhere other than a coastal town.” – Extract from Audio Postcard: Heritage and Place
“If you sit on the harbour wall almost any time of year sometimes you can see the fin shape of the harbour porpoises’ back dipping in and out of the sea as they catch fish.” – Extract from Audio Postcard: Marine Wildlife
