Award winning professional chef Rob Green, acclaimed for his culinary prowess at Yorkshire Seafood Kitchen, joins forces with Wild Eye to  demonstrate ways we can source and cook delicious, simple and sustainable seafood dishes without negatively impacting the environment.

On a mission to encourage everyone to buy, cook and eat more sustainably sourced seafood, Chef Rob Green has been busy delivering a host of free seafood events in and around Scarborough. From mobile cookery classes, interactive demonstrations at food festivals, free community pop ups and digital cook along videos these highly popular events have focused on sustainability, seasonality, provenance and the promotion of local food suppliers.

Rob’s passion for local seafood and the East Coast has also inspired the creation of a Wild Eye recipe book. This collection of uncomplicated yet flavourful seafood recipes feature the wonderful produce available from the North Sea. It’s a seasonally available selection from more expensive varieties such as lobster & scallops to more humble, but equally tasty species, such as mackerel and squid.

Sustainable Seafood Recipe Book

In partnership with Wild Eye, Yorkshire Seafood Kitchen is proud to release a free, easy-to-follow Sustainable Seafood Recipe Book.

Rob Green is a professional chef consultant with over 30 years experience based in Whitby, North Yorkshire. Now UK chef ambassador for Seafish, the authority on seafood.

Formally the owner of multi award winning restaurant Green’s of Whitby for 15 years and in that time winning the coveted Seafood Chef of the Year in 2009. 

Rob has been in the restaurant trade most of his working life and after moving to the seaside town of Whitby 28 years ago he hasn’t looked back.

With an array of top-quality produce so readily available it’s a chef’s dream to be located in such an area. From the fabulous fresh fish landed at the  local markets, to the prime local meats sourced  from neighbouring farms there’s a rich picking of the country’s finest produce.

Sustainable Seafood Sessions

Chef Rob has delivered free Wild Eye seafood events including cookery classes and demonstrations, as well as participating in Yorkshire’s local food festivals, where attendees can enjoy free samples of seafood. Additionally, Rob has hosted specialist events in partnership with Wild Eye, focusing on sustainability, seasonality, locality, and the promotion of local food suppliers.
